Advantages: great tasting food and drink
Disadvantages: Chairs are wooden and not that comfy
There are a few G&D's in Oxford, my local one is the Cowley road one. My friend introduced me to it. They sell hot drinks, icecream, bagels, and other sandwiches and lunches etc..
Apart from cowley road you can find them on st aldates and little clarendon street. Unfortunately parking is very bad in town and so if you need to park I would suggest the cowley road one.
It's never empty, no matter what time of day you go. I go along for coffee or hot chocolate but they do delicious cakes too.
Price wise they are pretty good, ice cream is about £3 and i've never had anything that tastes bad, the sizes are generous too. They also have a good range of drinks, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and even drinks with baileys in! They are of course well known for ice cream, the main flavours are strawberry, and daim bar crunch, but lots more to choose from and you can have it in a pot or a tub.
I will continue to go to G&D's as its a great place to meet friends and is a very social place, even if you want to sit by yourself and read the newspaper, it's a great place to go.
Summary: A great little find in Oxford
