Our family ate at Garfunkels in Bath during a day trip at the end of August 2009. Whilst initial impressions are good - it's a grand old building with impressive period features, however as we walked to our table I started to wonder why on a busy saturday lunchtime the place was 3/4 empty! As with previous reviews we ordered quite simple food for three adults and two children with no starters. Around 1/2 hour later our food arrived - the presentation was poor - very little on any plate looked appealing, then the taste - the chicken was dry and overcooked, the chunky fries were bordeline cremated and my sons "Cowbow Pie" was poor even for a kids meal - sausage and beans in a bowl with mash spead over the top - again with absolutely no effort made to make it look remotely appetising. We never saw our waiter again during our meal in fact it was a full 20 minutes after we had finished eating that he appeared to remove the main course plates. We left shortly after deciding not to risk deserts! I would avoid this place!
