      A memorable dining experience!

I went to this restaurant for my friend's birthday dinner and it was a great experience. The idea of the teppan yaki is that the food you choose will be cooked in front of you, so depending on what you order, you will be seated differently as they have seats which are in front of the cooking plate and some further away. It isn't in the most prominent place so you will have to walk or take the bus from the town centre- the bus takes roughly 15 minutes and it took me half an hour to walk (extremely easy- just down one straight road). The popular restaurant is quite busy so you will have to book beforehand. Once you arrive, you are seated in a bar/waiting area in which you are invited to have a drink whilst you order your meal and wait for the table. When it is ready, you are seated at the cooking plate area, roughly 10 per plate area, so you are sometimes paired with other diners. The menu contains food items for everyone: raw fish, cooked fish, vegetarian options, meaty dishes, rice/noodle, set meals and so on. You will definitely find something you will enjoy eating, but will it be for the right price? The problem with this restaurant is that it is quite expensive. You will most likely be spending a minimum of £20 here regardless of what you order (note an allowance of 10% service charge on top of what you have paid to avoid a nasty surprise when the bill comes)! Whilst I opted for the salmon teriyaki set meal, my friends went for the teppanyaki set dinners. These were cooked in front of you by a 'chef' and the one we had was charming, humorous and very professional, yet relatable. It was extremely impressive the way they cooked our food and the 'fire trick' (setting fire to the plate) was stunning as was our chef's juggling skills (she juggled eggs). Whilst I'm not sure if this was part of the package or if we'd just ended up with a very fun 'chef', this was an experience I have not had in a restaurant before and was extremely pleased. The food was above average- I wouldn't say it was amazing- but you definitely pay for the experience. The crab sushi roll I had was exceptional however. After finishing the meal at the plate area, you are invited to another dining area with ordinary table and chairs for tea and potentially dessert. As it was my friend's birthday, we brought cake and would not be tempted into their overpriced (£5) dessert items. Overall, despite the expensive menu items, it was a good experience and one that was enjoyable and worthwhile. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you ever happen to pop into Nottingham! NOTE: The other reviewer on here seems to hate the restaurant just because of the price, but taking all things into account, this is still a good restaurant!

        Good idea but poorly executed

I have just returned home after visiting Ginza with my girlfriend this Valentines evening. One of the main reasons I visited the establishment was due to the highly rated reviews I have read. However, my experience differed somewhat to these comments. The visual display was pleasing and food was acceptable, yet very highly priced. The only meal option was a set menu priced at £25, which was rushed through within 40 minutes and lacked any kind of interaction. Unfortunately my expectations were not reached.
