I love the food here, and its always on my list

Giraffe is a chain of restaurants around the country and we got one in Norwich when they acquired the tootsies chain of restaraunts.

A two floor restaraunt in the chapelfield complex in Norwich, giraffe is a really colourful place with the motto "live eat love". There is a fairly large selection of food. Ranging from salads to burgers, a bit of a Mexican flavour thrown in as well as a touch of portugese with peri peri chicken too. I think the concept is largely based around eating good food, wherever it comes from.

The prices on the menu are fairly reasonable. The most expensive things are from the grill, so steaks and ribs, but 2 of us had burgers and olives, and drinks for just over £30 last night. Which is pretty reasonable.

Giraffe often have special offers on, available on their website. I've seen 2 for 1 among others. They also have recently introduced wake up Wednesday - free coffee on a Wednesday morning until 10:30. They offer a few drinks offers as well including an extended happy hour every day except Friday and Saturday. It goes on all night Sunday night.

I always find the staff in giraffe to be really friendly, they know their menu really well and will happily recommend something for you to try, they aren't too intrusive, they seem to have just the right level of attentiveness.

One very slight niggle that I have is that they do add an "optional" tip onto the bill. This isn't a big thing, but always makes me feel a bit cheated. I know it is optional, but then you have to go through the rigmarole of explaining you want to choose your own tip (or no tip). It leaves me feeling embarrassed. So I just pay it. But Id much rather pay the tip I choose, and how I want too. I'd rather pay it directly to the staff. But as I say, just a small niggle.

Giraffe is often on my list of restaraunts to visit. I'm always happy to go there, and I also follow the Twitter stream they run, which is entertaining, and has lots of lovely competitions and fun
