First of all, upon looking at the menu, the average price of the burgers was somewhere around the £10 mark (that doesn't include chips or any sides or anything), you then had to pay a ridiculous amount for extras - e.g. £1.65 for ONE slice of cheese. We went to the new GBK in the Metrocentre, and I have to say, after the inital excitement of seeing that a GBK had opened in the region, we were left very disappointed! First of all, upon looking at the menu, the average price of the burgers was somewhere around the £10 mark (that doesn't include chips or any sides or anything), you then had to pay a ridiculous amount for extras - e.g. £1.65 for ONE slice of cheese. Service was slow, it took about 25 minutes to get our drinks and when the food did finally come out, it was very average. The burgers were both overcooked - although they had said that the "standard" way of cooking them was to cook them ... Read the complete review

Whilst on a recent trip to London we were looking for somewhere to have a late lunch and having missed breakfast something substantial! We came across the Gourmet Burger Kitchen not far from our hotel by Tower Bridge in London. ****FIRST IMPRESSIONS**** Having never come across a Gourmet Burger Kitchen or GBK, as they are often known, I was a little unsure of what to expect; McDonalds or restaurant type? From the outside it was pleasant looking and quite inviting sort of upmarket fast food chain with some nice out door seating. On entering it was different though and we waiting by the door to be seated which was pretty much ... Read the complete review

I recently visited the Nottingham branch of GBK which is located in the courtyard area of Trinity Square. I didn't realise when we went in that there isn't actually any table service, you have to go up to the counter yourselves and order, which is a bit of a pain when the restaurant is busy. I ordered a blue cheese burger at a cost of just under £8 and skinny fries at about £2. I wouldn't mind paying this for a burger in a restaurant but considering you have to do everything yourself apart from cook the food, I thought this was a bit steep. However, the service was quite quick and we didn't have to wait long for our meals. One of the advantages of this place ... Read the complete review

Gourmet Burger Kitchen, or more commonly known as GBK, is an upmarket burger restaurant specialising in a range of delicious burgers with beef chicken, lamb and vegetarian options. I first visited one of these restaurants in London and I was enticed in by the warm, welcoming and down to earth atmosphere. Upon being seated, I was asked whether I'd visited a GBK before and then told that when I was ready to order I could do so at the till. This is similar to the system in place at Nandos which I enjoy as there is no rush to order, you can simply go to the till when you're 100% sure what you'd like. The price you will pay for a burger and chips on average is £10 ... Read the complete review

Normally, I am quite fussy when it comes to eating out, as burgers are a generic meal and I always feel a bit disturbed to pay £10 for burger and chips when I can get it for about £2 in mcdonalds...I have got into a burger eating phase after visiting Byron Burger for a friends birthday so when my brother recommended Gourmet Burger Kitchen I decided to give it a try... We visited the Clapham Common Branch in London, and decided to order take away as it was around 9pm and we were too lazy to actually dine in. Initially we called, but the staff were a bit annoying and kept saying he couldn't hear us on the phone so we abandoned this mission and decided to just go ... Read the complete review
