Advantages: Delicious burgers

Disadvantages: Employ staff who don't understand English

For the past couple of years I have visited Gourmer Burger Kitchen on a regular basis. The Gourmet Burger Kitchen restaurant is rather bland, the chairs inside are uncomfortable to sit on and it doesn't feel like a restaurant. But, it's not supposed to be a restaurant. Unlike other hamburger restaurants, you pay for your food and they deliver the food to your table, the same way a pub works. This is of course to encourage people to eat and leave as soon as possible to make way for new customers.

The price of a hamburger, fries and drink together comes to a total of around £12 or more. For a "burger kitchen" with a very bland interior and decoration, this seems slightly expensive. For £12 I would like to feel that I'm eating at a real restaurant. However, what saves Gourmet Burger Kitchen are two points. The first: the quality of the burgers are very good. I have eaten burgers all over the world and I can say that the standard of Gourmet Burger kitchen is very good.

One will not be dissapointed with the quality of the beef. Secondly, Gourmet burger tends to also run special offers, for example buy one get one free. If you go with a friend and order 2 cheese burgers, a fries to share and 2 tap waters, the total comes to a very reasonable £10. The voucher deal is always advertised online but no information is available in the restaurant. I find this slightly sneaky tactic on behalf of Gourmet Burger, many friends of mine have been regularly visiting paying full price while not knowing about the voucher.

The other complaint I would have is the staff, once I went to Gourmet Burger in Covent Garden, the waitress who's first language was not English asked me if I would like anything to drink. I told her that I "I hadn't decided yet", she noded as to give the impression she knew what I was saying and instead delivered a cider to my table. When I pointed out this error she gave me a nastly look.

Summary: Some of the best burgers in the UK
