Gourmet Burger Kitchen is a UK wide chain of fancy burger restaurants. In the last year, one has opened near me so I have been able to pop along & check it out.

The first thing I noticed is this place is slightly classier than you normal burger joint like McDonalds or Burger King but not up there with your average restuarant, so somewhere in between. I felt in particular that the seating wasn't all that comfortable. Also although you're brought menus over to you, you must go and order & pay for your food & drink at the counter and then it's brought over to you when it's ready.

The food itself is good qualiy with the a vast selection of different burgers available. One of my favourites is the buffalo burger they serve, which is very different to anything I've had before, the nearest thing I could compare it to would probably be lamb. The burgers themselves are very filling and of a high standard. They are a number of sides available too, the house fries are particular nice as are the onion rings.

In terms of value of money, I think this place does well. A burger sets you back around £7-£9, which is good value for what you get. Also if you sign up for their mailing list on their website, you are e-mailed regular special offers like a "buy one get one free" I recieved recently.
