      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Will miss this place when I move!

Living on my own very rarely do I cook all for myself to be honest. I have friends round and so on quite often and so when we get the munchies we tend to order in rather alot and I love Chinese food and this is where I order most of my Chinese takeaways from.

      The Place:

      7 The Centre
      Weston-super-mare, Avon
      BS23 1US
      Tel: 01934 620022

      Opening Times:

Every day of the week 16.30 - 11.00pm. You can of course go into the takeaway and order what you want which is about a 20 minute wait in my experience, call them up with the order and then nip in and fetch it, you can call them and they deliver it and that costs £1.00 delivery within a 3 mile radius or from Justeat.com to which £1.00 delivery is charged (providing you order £10.00 of food).

I have ordered through Justeat.com and been into the takeaway shop itself and I have been in ordered food and got them to deliver it a bit later and although I have ordered food from here lots and lots of times I have never had a single problem with any it.

I was surprised when I first saw the takeaway unit though. There is no seating within it at all and it really is a very basic unit indeed. Its clean enough but rather cold in there and it would be easy to walk past the unit and not even know what it is!

Like I say though me and my friends have ordered loads from here and the reason we do is because the food is always heated through well, the starters and main courses and so on all come in microwavable and large containers, great for my parents who like to make sure there food is always hot and steaming and its always looks so fresh and looks appertising too.

      So Whats On Offer Then:?:

All the usual suspects really. Cans and bottles of pop (cans 70p - £1.70), starters of Aromatic Crispy Lamb £6.50, Crispy Seaweed £2.70, 2 Spring Rolls £1.60 Bang Bang Chicken £3.90 plus mixed starters for 2 £7.50 and Aromatic crispy duck (Quarter £6.50, Half £12.50, Whole £22.50) then of course you have a selection of soups too.......Hot & Sour Soup £2.10, Chicken & Sweetcorn Soup £1.90 plus 5 others including vegetarian options.

For main courses there is absolutely loads to choose from including Curries, House Specials, Chef Specials, Sweet & Sour Dishes, Satays, Cantonese, Black Pepper Dishes, Black Bean Dishes, Szechuan Dishes, Kung Po Dishes, Duck And King Prawn Dishes, Chicken And Beef dishes, Pork and Foo Yung Dishes, Thai and Chow Mein Dishes and Rice and English Dishes. If you go for a sweet and sour, a rice or a chow main dish they come as they come however anything else you can have boiled rice for 70p or fried rice or chips with it for an extra 90p and with the English dishes like Grilled Sirloin Steak with Gravy (£6.90) and things like Chicken Nuggets for £3.80 (there are interestingly no Vegetarian options to pick from, from the 6 meals on offer in this section), they all come served with just chips.

So What Have I Had From Here:?

Starters I have had include 2 crispy spring rolls, vegetarian spring rolls x 8, sesame prawn on toast, Spare Ribs in Honey Sauce, Aromatic Crispy Duck and Chicken & Sweetcorn Soup. All are fantastic and come hot and in large portions. The ribs, tasty and plump and in copius amounts of sticky sauce, the soup comes in a large dumpy container. Me and my mates go mad for the spring rolls which are never greasy.

Main Meals, again I have had loads of from here and always swap and change and even taste my mates to see Iif I like what they have!

I've had Special Curry, Deep Fried King Prawns In Peking Sauce, Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls (9), House Special Satay, House Special In Cantonese Sauce, Szechuan House Special, Roast Duck Chinese Style, House Special Chow Mein, Deep Fried Chicken With Plum Sauce, Deep Fried King Prawns in Sweet & Chilli Sauce.

Once again the above meals are really lovely. There are alot of Vegetarian options available and out of everything I have tried I have loved everything I have had apart from the Szechuan dish I found too hot for me but to be fair it did say it was a hot on the menu however my stepdad had the same the other night and asked for his to be made extra hot and it was and he loved it! The meals all look attractive and the prawn dishes always comes with lots of prawns within them and the pork and beef in dishes are always soft and tender and all of the above meals are under a fiver each and then you can buy extras like beansprouts, chips, boiled/fried rice, prawn crackers for about £1.20 and there are even a selection of sauces such as sweet and sour at a £1.10 each and again you get plenty of it. The only desserts available are pineapple and banana fritters in syrup and you get two of them for £1.90.

There are also alot of set meals to choose from for one person up to 4 people of various prices. The meal for one person consist of Chicken & Sweetcorn Soup, Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls (5), Beef with Mushrooms (small) and Egg fried Rice for £8.50 and both me and my mum have had this and its excellent value for money. I have also had one of the two set meals for two people from here which is Quarter aromatic Crispy Duck, Deep Fried Shredded Beef with Chilli, Chicken With Ginger & Spring Onions, Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables and Yung Chow Fried Rice which costs £20.90 and once again this works out excellent value for money.

I have enjoyed so much I have ordered and eaten from here apart from the chips, they are always not very pleasant and soggy and always taste reheated. I don't like the fritters as desserts either, again they are always soggy.

      All In All:

There is loads of choice and plenty of it it this is amongst one of my few favourite takeaways close to where I live. They have never got an order wrong or mixed up, its never been cold and/or inedible and always looks so well cooked and colourful. This isn't the best Chinese in Weston Super Mare but it is up there and it is one of the cheapest Chinese takeaways I have found. The only problem I can see is that there is nothing on the menu vegetarian within the English dishes!

      And Finally:

FREE Prawn crackers on orders over £12
FREE Thai spring rolls or sesame prawn on toast on orders over £20
FREE A bottle of Coke OR spare ribs on orders over £30

      Happy ordering!
