Greggs in general
Advantages: Fresh food, good quality.
Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
I love Greggs the Bakers and make a point of visiting, every time I go into the town centre. We have two Greggs in our town, one at each end of the High Street, so it's always easy to pop in for a bite to eat or for some goodies to take back home with me.
Greggs is one of these shops, that you can smell before you can even see it and as soon as you do, you start to feel hungry. There is always a lovely aroma of freshly baked goods and I find it impossible to pass, without going in for something nice. They bake throughout the day, so their produce is always very fresh and tasty.
This baker sells a huge range of products and there is aways a nice selection to choose from. My favourite savoury has to be their Cheese and Onion Pasty. They have a huge selection of savouries including: Sausage Rolls, Steak Bake, Cornish Pasty, Sausage & Bean Melt and Chicken Bake, to name a few. The area I get carried away in though, is the cream cakes! I especially love Strawberry Tarts, Chocolate Eclairs and Cream Doughnuts (my mouth's watering, just thinking about them!)
It's best to visit Greggs, either before or after lunch, as the queue gets really long. It is a great place for picking up a warm savoury snack, a cup of soup, rolls and sandwiches with a range of different fillings and a tea, coffee or juice drink. The list is endless! I won't even get into their delicious range of pies, fruit slices and doughnuts.
The staff must receive excellent training. The shop is always spotlessly clean, the staff are also clean and tidy in appearance. Even though they are very busy and constantly on the go, they are friendly and polite. I have never known a time in the many years I have been visiting Greggs, when I haven't been served quickly and efficiently, even when they have been busy.
I also find their food good value for money, when I compare it to other fast food merchants. It is obviously more expensive than cooking for yourself though. They offer meal deals where you can get a filled roll, any cookie or jam/ring doughnut and a drink for £2.99. This compares favourably to most fast food outlets and is much better quality in my opinion.
Summary: Greggs - excellent bakers, with lovely food.
