Disadvantages: Dnt accept card :(
Greggs is the UK's up to date bakers, which has a store in most towns and has pretty much something for everyone!
Greggs sell a good range of food, including sandwiches, baguettes, cakes, donuts, pasties, bakes, cream cakes, cookies, sausage rolls and much much more. They also sell crisps and drinks so you can make a good meal out of what you buy.
A lot of my friends love the Sausage, cheese and bean melt that Greggs makes, but I personally can not not comment on it, I do not like sausages so I have not tried it. There is also steak bakes, chicken slice bakes and cheese and onion slices. All the pastry items have lovely crunchy yet soft, fluffy pastry that just melt in your mouth. The donuts are soft and fluffy too, and the iced ring donut is truly my favorite. Their cookies are also amazing, crunchy yet chewey!
The sandwich range is quite awesome too, they have the usual triangle style sandwiches with fillings including BLT, Tuna and Sweetcorn and Chicken, but the best ones in my opinion are the Oval Bit sandwiches. These are an oval bun with sesame seeds on top, with a range of fillings including Chargrilled Chicken, Mexican Chicken and Sweet Salad. The baguettes have a full range of different choices too.
I find Greggs gets quite busy at lunch times, and the queue can often be out of the door, so be prepared to wait for a little while if you buying in there at lunch times. The service is usually quite good in Greggs, but I have been served by some people in there who really needed to get a clue! The prices are pretty good in Greggs, and you can get some of the items on good deals if you buy more than one, or there is a meal deal option, although I am unsure of the price of this.
The major downside to Greggs is that they do not accept any type of cards, just cash, and as I don't always carry cash on me, I am not always able to buy food in Greggs. I am hoping one day soon they will come into the modern world and update their systems to accept cards, I am sure they will get a hell of a lot more business when they do.
Greggs is a great place to grab a nice snack or some lunch, so I do recommend it to anyone, as there is such a great choice that everyone should be able to find something they like, at a pretty good price for great value and great tasting food.
Summary: Yummy food from a UK bakers chain
