Gregg's is a very popular high street bakery, you can find at least one in most towns/ cities across the entire of the united kingdom. They are well known for their fine baked goods and are normally the number one choice for most.


Personally for me Greggs is not the first choice, my reasoning for this is the very high prices, when you put it in comparison with other things in today's inflated environment it may seem cheap but it is really not. A single sausage roll will set you back around 60 pence from Greggs, at first you may think, that isn't too bad, which it isn't if you were in a cafe or some sort of seated establishment, but you're not. For an extra 40 pence you can go to Cooplands and get an extra three of them. The deals also don't say much about them, i cannot remember the correct figure but the deals are similar to, and this is without exaggeration, 60p each or 2 for £1.19. I personally find that the offers they display are a little demeaning and almost implicating that I'm an idiot and going to fork out more and save nothing.

The actual food at Greggs i have to admit is great, i don't believe that any other high street baker compares to them when it comes to the actual foods. The meat they use, whether it is higher quality or not just tastes so much better. The pastry also tastes much better, it has a much more crisp firm feel as if it has been baked to a golden brown perfection where at some other bakeries it is much softer and crumbles more easily making you feel an idiot as you tuck into your pastry and are instantly covered in crumbs.


In conclusion i would suggest Greggs to others however i would not directly recommend it to them due to it's rather unfair prices, although they taste better i do not think that they taste that much better that they deserve to charge so much more for the food than other bakeries do.
