      It was fun

I frequented this bar for a few hours on saturday night. The bar is also a restaurant serving grill style food like steaks and burgers. Its reasonably priced but I didnt eat there last night as it was fully booked.

The bar area is quite small and you are really packed in. I stuck with my favourite rasberry mojitos all night, at £5.95 a go they arent too expensive but they do go down so quickly as they are very tasty. One thing I didnt like about this bar was that the lady serving down our end of the bar didnt seem to like moving very quickly even when she had a bar packed with customers. As a lot of people are ordering cocktails and they have to supply the restaurant with drinks too there is a long wait to get served, even when its quiet!

The best thing about this bar I can imagine is that when its sunny its got a great view over the canal and would be lovely on a summers afternoon for a few mojitos.

Try this bar but probably avoid on a saturday night if you dont enjoy waiting for hours for one drink.

Ha ha bar and grill is a place that has only opened a couple of months in the superb location of the Mailbox in Birmingham city centre and is an absolutely great place. I went just this weekend for some drinks and a great atmosphere, food and drinks are waiting for you and it is such a nice place to just go and catch up with people and here is why.

      First the address:

      Ha ha bar and grill
      178 - 180 Wharfside street
      Mail box
      Birmingham
      West Midlands
      B1 1RN

The location is fantastic and the Mailbos is situated right in Birmingham city centre so you can get there by car and park in Birminghams centre in one of the many car parks or you can get there by public transport and walk there. The train, metro and bus links are just a five / ten minute walk from the Mailbox.

The bar is at the back of the Mailbox by all of the bars and restaurants. It is located at the top and has spectacular views over the city and at night it particularly looks fantastic and is quite sweet sitting by the window staring out. It is by the canal which is just lovely and you can watch the barges go by.

You walk in and the décor is very modern with nice wooden tables and chairs and the bar area is great with a nice pebble background wall which looks brilliant. The bar is well stocked and has everything you could imagine so soft, hot, cocktails and alcoholic drinks are all on the menu. The prices are very reasonable to which is great with a lemonade being around £1.80 and a cocktail being at £3 - 5.

A glass of wine is around £3.50 and a beer is around £3. the staff are great so if you fancy something just let them know as they made one of my friends a mango drink from scratch which was good.

The food is fabulous and there are offers on every now and again. Throughout January they had a great offer where you could have lunch for £5 and choose from all sorts. On the menu you can expect things such as fish cakes, steak, mussels, salad and bizarrely bangers and mash.

The prices are very good with main meals ranging from £6 - 13 depending on what you have and the food is presented perfectly and smells delicious. I had a burger which was gorgeous and although it was only £6 it was very filling which was very nice indeed. I went with a group of five friends and everybody had a nice time with one person having the steak and passing compliments to the chef as they loved it.

The puddings are fantastic and range from £4 - 6. We all had chocolate puddings with myself having one of my favourites which was chocolate brownie and ice cream and I loved it. Other people had tortes which were delicious and I could have eaten another one even though they were quite big portions.

The staff are great and although they are very busy at all times, I still find that they are very helpful and that you can approach them at any time. I do not think that anybody who visits Ha ha bar and grill will have a horrible time and I think that everybody will enjoy themselves.

A great atmosphere and as you are in the centre you do have a great time and the Mailox is always a vibrant place with plenty of people and is great fun. Ha ha bar and grill is new and I really do hope is here to stay.

      I recommend to all.

      Thanks for reading.

      xxx
