The Hampstead Crêperie is situated just up from the Post Office on Hampstead High St, and if you turn left out of the underground station you will soon reach it. It is a courageous place to be located given the wealth of cafés in the area, but people still flock to hand over two or three pounds for a sweet or savoury crêpe, prepared by one of the young French staff. For 30p extra you can get a specially designed holder designed to facilitate eating on the move, and a fork is always provided. This is a café with a difference. It isn’t actually a café at all – it’s a caravan. But the crêpes it sells are phenomenal – so if you’re ever in Hampstead, you should try them.
