Advantages: Friendly staff

Disadvantages: Expensive, Bad food, Dirty

Harry Ramsden's has been known for years as the world's premier fish and chip shop. Based on my experience in Bournemouth on my summer holiday, however, it's time for them to pass the crown on to someone else.

The two overpriced battered sausages which I had were alright, although nothing special, but the chips were underdone, bordering on inedible, and the friends with me who had fish said that that was equally bad. In addition to this, the restaurant was dirty, and there were nowhere near enough people on the tills to cope with the large queues – although to be fair, if I worked somewhere which sold food this bad, I wouldn’t expect many people to be waiting.

In fairness, what staff there were were pleasant and fairly efficient, but this eating experience left a bad taste in my mouth – in more ways than one.

Hi James, welcome to dooyoo :o) Hope you have fun. I see you are picking up a lot of Usefuls for this one - which is no bad thing - but if you want to improve your ratings and build up a reputation you should look to go into a little bit more detail in your ops. Perhaps you could say a bit about the range of food on offer, the general feel of the place and give an indication of prices. If you do decide to 'beef it up' a bit, let me know and I'll happily come and read some more.
