Advantages: Good family atmosphere, good prices, filling

Disadvantages: Not the best quality food

Its strange really one man's caviar is another man's fish egg's and all that, the Harvester seems to be one of those places that divides opinion sharply.

To some it offers decent food (not spectacular, but decent food) at a great price, while allowing you your 5 vegetables a day, in a decent ambience. To others its old fashioned, chavvy, everything, its frozen food on a plate.

Well i'm with the people who like the place, as somebody not made of money, I just want a nice meal that will fill me up, somewhere with a good selection of dishes, where I can feel somewhat healthy by making two trips to the salad bar, eating some beetroot and pulses and then using that as my excuse for subsequently devouring an enormous mixed grill or chicken mix.

I accept the quality of food is variable and some of the menu options are not for vegetarians, but there are plenty of options, meals are priced at the standard they are, your never going to get Foie Gras for a fiver.

Service is fine, I like the fact Harvester employ older staff too, I feel relaxed and comfortable with that and feel its good to see, theres a good selection of drinks as pubs are generally attached. The menu is solid and has the odd flourish alongside its array of meaty dishes and it has good familyoptions.
