If you are looking for fantastic value find your nearest Hungry Horse restaurant!
The Hungry Horse chain are a national chain offering the best value in eating out.
What sets them apart is their prices. A 10oz steak will set you back £5.99 & is served on a huge 17" plate. The menu offers such delights as Ribs, steaks including rump, sirlion, T-Bone & a mega 20oz steak at £9.99, combos, cod, pies, curries, pastas,& a good veggie selection overall about 40 different choices. You note your table No & place your order at the counter, collect your cutlery & your food is bought to you.
There is a good childrens menu & a light bite menu offering many favourites in smaller portions. Some of the meals can be upgraded at a small price. many are big plate specials served on 17" plates covered with food, enough to satify the most voracious of appitites!
The mega Ribs covers the whole 17" plate & hangs of the sides. The dessert menu looks scrumptious but I can never manage it! There is a icecream dessert served up in what looks like a goldfish bowl on a pedestal, plenty for 2 or 3 to share.
Monday & Tuesday are special days with many meals offered at £1 off, so a standard steak will only cost £4.99.
Tea, coffee & coke are offered with free refills & children are very welcome before 9pm, high chairs provided.
The restaurants can get very busy especialy on Monday & Tuesday & you often have to wait, that is a smsll price to pay for the value offered.
The prices offered & laid back atmosphere makes the Hungry Horse a true family dining experience at an affordable price.
My local Hungry Horse is in the Oaks pub in Ashford but there are many more all over the country.
