RESTAURANT DANTE:The place had a very quaint traditional italian feel, much unlike some chain restaurants, with a simple brick and leafy interior and a very homely atmosphere. The service was efficient and the staff very friendly. The food arrived quite promptly and was delicious. We had the Dante pizza and a creamy basil pesto pasta to share and they were both faultless. There was no fresh bread w/olive oil & vinegar in sight though. The house red left a bit to be desired, but a very reasonable £16 for one drink and 2 dishes, and a bill with no included service charge meant we really wanted to tip generously and will defintely be back! This is now my #1 italian restaurant of choice - loved it
There are more than two italian restaurants in Ealing, but i will comment on two of them. 1.Dante - Uxbridge Rd, Ealing Common 2.Osteria Del Portico - Ealing Broadway. Dante------ Dante is my favourite, the owner is very friendly and parades his restaurant every night to check on the grazing customers. I would reccomend the 'Dante' pizza if you like it hot and spicy. The desserts are freaking lush - I nearly wet my pants over the tiramisu and as for the cheese cake - well i nearly excreted out of another orifice. The prices are modest and the place has more of a bistro feel to it. In the summer you can sit outside. Osteria Del Portico------ A family owned restaurant with some nice dishes. It is a much larger restaurant so the service does suffer when it gets busy. Once they completely forgot our main course because "the order fell behind the oven". It's not a bad restaurant but the food has got progressively worse over the past 3 years - avoid Osteria and pop to 'Carluccios' a couple of doors down for some top Italian nosh. comments below relate to 'Dante' Buon Appetito!
