Advantages: tasty

Disadvantages: the shop

When it comes to fast food, you pretty much have 3 choices: McDonalds, Burger King and KFC. Whereas the first two produce food that has the distinct feel of being quickly and carelessly thrown together, KFC is different. First off, there's the coating made up of 11 secret spices and herbs. Now, these guys have been around since the 1930s, and the secret coating is the main reason for their success, coating each piece of chicken in a delicious, unique blend of tasty but not over-strong spices and herbs. There is no doubt that the chicken tastes great. Sadly, the same cannot be said for the chips, which are as bad as the other fast-food joints in that they're often soggy and cold/cool. And don't even talk to me about the gravy, which is always a congealed blob in a pot. But, you don't go to KFC for the chips, you go for the chicken, which is always great.

Another thing I like about KFC is the huge amount of choice, including lots of big meals. You don't ever have to leave KFC hungry, which cannot be said for McDonalds for sure. The range available is huge, as is the price variation.

Prices are, at their cheapest, the same as the competitors: around £3.50 for the most basic meal, and go all the way up to £20 or so for big buckets full of everything you can imagine. Again, these family meals are a unique selling point to KFC, in that you can buy one product that will feed everyone.

I have to say that the shops themselves (at least in my city) are the poorest of the 3 fast food chains - dirty, crowded, poor toilet facilities, and in need of a good re-furb. Cue-wise, they're always out the door, which can't be said for the others, but I wouldn't know if that was due to them having more customers or being slower to serve!

All in all, a great tasting product that has a good range for all appetities and wallets.

Anyway, the taste is one thing, but what about the range?

I've never really been a fan - I don't mind the chicken fillet burgers they do but the actual fried chicken is ridiculously greasy and tastes awful. Good review though.
