Advantages: tastes good

Disadvantages: awful when it isn't cooked well

I don't buy KFC very often but during my pregnancy I craved it on a few occasions. As much as I try to steer clear of fast food outlets anyone who has been pregnant will know that when you are craving there is nothing you can do other than just go with it!

KFC not only provide the standard chicken pieces that are coated in that amazingly tasty batter, you can also buy chicken burgers, wraps and various other chicken based products too. You can also purchase family sized boxes which consists of different chicken pieces, a desert some sides and a drink. These are great for families or Andrew and I who can consume one between the two of us!

The thing that annoys me about KFC is the fact that you can go one day and really enjoy what you eat but the next time you pay them a visit, you feel sick after eating. The chicken can be very 'hit or miss', sometimes it's cooked perfectly and the outer layer is crispy and tasty whereas other times the chicken looks undercooked and the outer layer is sloppy and moist.

The other thing that really 'gets my goat' is the price of the things! They seem to charge much more than other fast food outlets. The meals that are meant for one person cost around £5 which I think is steep and if you want a bargain bucket then it's not that much of a 'bargain' at £10!

The last thing that gets on my nerves is the fact that the food is so salty. The chicken coating is ridiculously salty although this doesn't take away from the taste, the chips are covered in salt and I always come away absolutely dying for a drink.

Despite all of this, the chicken is really tasty and the cheaper versions of the meat that try to copy the recipe don't even come close. It really is an indescribable taste that leaves you wanting more if they get it right on the day you buy it!

Over all I find this outlet to be rather unpredictable but when they get it right, they really do which leaves me craving for more.

Summary: Inconsistant

I can remember craving a KFC during my first pregnancy. Hubby went and bought a bucket for us to share...and I was up all night with sickness and diarrhoea. I didn't crave it again after that!
