Disadvantages: The calories, the taste, the concept

Kentucky Fried Chicken is for me all thats wrong with the attitude to food in this country, here we have a fast food - I was going to say restaurant but thats a bit generous, lets say outlet instead, anyway it sells chicken deep fat fried in breadcrumbs.

So here we have the famous Colonel Sanders mix of herbs, not based on a real person by the way just a pure advertising promo, the herbs are put on the chicken and deep fried. Thats when for me the food becomes almost inedible, its oily, greasy, has a horrible crunchiness to it and comes with normally lukewarm fries, dodgy beans and a soft drink. I havent even mentioned popcorn chicken, do I need to go there? A product of which we have no idea where the little balls of chicken come from?

I seriously dislike the taste of KFC and the insidious attempts to make it seem ok to get your family a bargain bucket as a main evening meal. If thats your idea of a family meal then you need to look at yourself and wonder why your seven year old looks like he's been inflated and is picked last for his forms football team (I know I was that kid).

So please, if you want chicken cook it yourself but yourself some chicken pieces coat them in a little flour, salt and pepper, and maybe some paprika or cumin. Then flash them in a frying pan and finish off in the oven, they should take about half an hour enough time to make some chips or better still baked potatoes, and a salad.

and you know what it'll probably cost you less than a bargain bucket from KFC.
