Advantages: Good chicken, Nice extras

Disadvantages: Slow, Unhealthy

For one of my favourite meals, I like to get myself a takeaway filled full of KFC chicken.
Sounds reasonable enough doesnt it? Provided you like Chicken.
But what else do they sell?
Well not a lot im afraid!
If you dont like Chicken, you are stuck. Saying that they do offer a wide range of ways to cook it.
I personally like to purchase one of their larger products called the "bargain bucket".
It used to be aptly named but has recently changed slightly.
In fact, they are lucky, someone has not reported them to Trades Description Act!
Firstly at £9.99 its no bargain.
Secondly it no longer comes in a Bucket. Read on....

I can remember buying a Bargain Bucket in the past.
Now this comes with the following:
8 Pieces of Chicken,
4 Portions of Fries
Barbeque Beans
Coleslaw
A bottle of drink or a Vienneta.
This costs £9.99 and used to come in a paper bucket. Now it comes in 2 fold up boxes.

It is a good deal for a family of 4 but you never quite feel full on 2 bits of chicken. Its best to buy it between 2 of you and save some for tomorrow when its cold. The coating is scrummy cold or hot!

The coating is in fact what makes it so special. There are numerous inpersonators. Dixie Fried Chicken, Southern Fried Chicken. All run by less savoury types who look like hygiene comes a close second in the bum wiping stakes. None of whom can even come close to KFC.
Its a secret recipe of blended herbs and spices. One that nearly got announced to the public when someone alledgedly found it in their house and threatened to sell it.

Looking at the menu, you can have something different to plain old Chicken.
You can have a Zinger Tower Buger. A chicken burger that is stacked full of salad and mayo while keeping its crispy coating and adding a very hot flavouring to it.

How about some hot wings? These are very hot and blow your mind. They are ex
pensive for what they are and you dont get much meat on them.
They also do crispy strips. These are pure chicken without any bone. Im suprised they dont offer Chicken Nuggets as well.

A nice touch is the cutlery, paper towels, clean up towels and salt sachets that they put in with your order. It makes a real difference when you are not going home to eat it and need somewhere to clean up.

The staff are always friendly and they normally have the food ready.

Saying this, there are some downsides.

Firstly, the lack of Drive thru restauants around. Macdonalds have loads and KFC have only just recently noticed the market for this. I know of 3 that have sprung up locally so they are going some way to combating the problem.

Secondly the speed of service. They are not the quickest of establishments and often develop long queues.

Thirdly is the range of foods. If you dont like chicken, prepare to eat lots of chips. Also the food is all deep fried which makes it highly fattening and deeply unhealthy.
