Advantages: Fabulous local British food at excellent prices
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
My partner and I live in Central London and before the credit crunch
used to eat dinner out about once a month, now like everyone else in
the country it's a rare treat and we have had to cut right back.
Konstam is the only restaurant we have visited in the past six months
[for my birthday] and we had such a wonderful time that I remembered
why Konstam is my favourite restaurant in the capital.
I have given this restaurant a five star rating for the food, the
people and the atmosphere. The food is some of the best food I have
eaten and I have never had a bad plate of food there- I can still
remember meals that we ate a couple of years ago. However what makes
Konstam special is the atmosphere and the people who work there- they
are all dedicated and professional and I love the way you can go there
for a noisy family dinner or a quiet Sunday lunch.
Konstam is not the cheapest restaurant in London, but we frequently
eat there for £60 for the two of us, which for a three course locally
produced menu is fantastic value in my opinion, when you can go to
Pizza Express for more or less the same price. Konstam is different
and as the menu changes every day it never gets dull.
I have recommended Konstam to all my friends and family and everyone
who has visited came back raving about the food and service- they love
the open plan kitchen and being able to watch the chefs at work.
I know that money is tight for everyone at the moment but I will
continue to visit Konstam to support it as I would hate for the credit
crunch to impact Konstam while McDonalds and Pizza Huts crop up all
over the High Street. I can't recommend Konstam highly enough.
Summary: A wonderful place for a romantic meal, special night out or family dinner
