Advantages: So yummy,

Disadvantages: So calorific and a bit expensive !

If you are very very lucky you will have a Tesco express near you that sell these little bundles of fattening joy. If you are even luckier, you will have near you a Krispy Kreme Kiosk/Shop or live near Harrods.

History

Krispy Kreme is the famed store that never advertises. The legend says that as these donuts are so amazing - Krispy Kreme have never advertised and have relied solely on word of mouth to sell their range.

They were born in 1937 by Vernon Rudolph who bought the recipe from a French chef. People asked if they could buy the doughnuts hot - he cut a hole in the wall and the rest is history so they say. The first Krispy outlet in the UK was Harrods in London in 2003.

Once you have tasted one of these babies, you will never go back to 4 for a £1 sugared jam doughnuts.

The Krispy Kreme store, or display stand in Tesco always looks well cared for. They have deliveries 2 or 3 times a day to the Tesco store (possibly the same to the Kiosk- if they don't bake them themselves).
The staff in the kiosk's have an 'American' way about them- cheery and willing to help find you the best deal.

These doughnuts last for 3 days, you can buy a dozen and you will eat them all! They are tasty and moorish and have possibly a million calories per donut.

There are no downsides to this brand, except that they are very calorific and the product is expensive for 1 - but when you buy more you do get a good discount.
Currently there are 15 different doughnuts available in the UK, I have not tried them all yet, but I am working on it (on the basis of pure research you understand!) There are regular flavours, but they do have special limited edition doughnuts as well just to tempt us!

Summary: Yummy doughnuts that are hard to resist !

I think Krispy Kreme's are more popular in the UK than they are the US and I believe the first store was opened in Kentucky =)
