Advantages: Great price and great taste

Disadvantages: NONE

I'm not always the biggest fan of eating out. I find I settle for something on the menu sometimes and then dont enjoy it. Restaurants like La Tasca are perfect for me.

Essentially La Tasca is a Spanish tapas restaurant. For those who have never experianced this style of eating Tapas are smaller portions of meals that allows you to have a few different things. To give you an idea recently I went with the Girlfriend and we had around 6 meals between us:

Chorizo Sausage in a red wine sauce
Potatoes with a tomato sauce and cheese
Selection of dry cured meats
Chorizo paella
Calamari
Garlic bread.

This was enough for a luch but I expect we would have got two more for a dinner. I found everything to be very fresh. Its quite easy to tell when fish isnt fresh and whilst the calamari hadn't been caught that day it still had plenty of flavour and had a great lemon Mayonaise with it. The paella was really nice as was the chorizo in red wie. I have had better chorizo but I am being a bit picky there! The Garlic bread was the real deal and you got quite a bit of it. I especially liked the cured meats which there was loads of!

The entire meal cost about £25 with a drink each. This is a really good price. The great thing wth tapas is that each dish is between £3 and £5. At lunch times there is a set menu where you can pick 3 dishes for £6.95! The set dishes are favourites aswel like the calamari etc.

The service was great, nice people, quick and helpful. One thing I liked was that even though it was a quiet lunch time they were not in your face every few minutes asking if everything was ok! The food arrived quick and this has been the case on a few occasions! If you like a bit of atmosphere go for dinne. They sometimes have a live Spanish band on doing some covers of some classic songs. You havnt heard Metallica unless you have heard it in La Tasca!

Summary: I love it!

You know, I don't think I've tried tapas, but it sounds like a style of eating I'd enjoy !
