Advantages: Variety of dishes

Disadvantages: Can be cool before eaten

I have visited several La Tasca outlets in the Manchester area - Deansgate, Didsbury and The Trafford Centre. In each reataurant the atmosphere has been good. On several occasions there has been a guitarist playing at The Trafford Centre venture. Whilst many neighbouring restaurants have been virtually empty or only partially full, La Tasca has always been virtually full of people - which adds to the embiance - admittedly a fake themed decoration - but it is effective.

I often visit with a wheelchair user and have always managed to get a table without a long wait which is accessible and not in the main thoroughfare of waiters which have been known to bump into wheels in other chain restaurants. On one occasion several years ago though, the disabled bathroom in Didsbury outlet was used as a bit of a storeroom. A letter to head office was all it needed to sort the problem and we were compensated with a free evening for the party of 4 - we were treated to everything we wanted and offered more. This did not put us off re-visiting again - in fact the complaint had been handled so well - we ended up praising the company!!

I like the fact that there is such a choice of dishes on the menu - plain and spicy, fish, meat and vegetarian, warm and cold. It suits our family as we have a variety of tastes and there is something to suit everyone.

The idea is to choose maybe 3 or 4 dishes per person and then dive in and share as you please. My one complaint is that there are often so many dishes on the table they can go slightly cold before you get around to eating them all. They come from the kitchen hot but depending how quickly they are consumed can be coolish before eaten - maybe this could be solved with some heating device as in Chinese restaurants using candle to keep the food hot.

Recently I have had vouchers for money off - 50% free on food or BOGOF. This makes the restaurant all the more appealing. These vouchers have been available on MSE website - might be worth a look.

Yes it is a fake taste of Spain - but I've spent many an evening sipping Sangria, eating Tapas whilst listening to the guitarist strumming away. Not a bad way to spend a night and closer than the real Spain.

Summary: A good atmosphere and ok food
