The seating - of which there is a fair amount, although it stops short of overcrowding - tends to be a combination of chairs and benches covered with bright cushions. This certainly adds to the aesthetic appeal, but the latter aren't especially comfortable, unless you enjoy peering down upon your food from on ... more

Premium Review La Tasca (Docklands): Manna for Indecisive Eaters; Tapas at La Tasca (901 words)

The idea of Tapas sits extremely well with me - the cost less so. As such, La Tasca's recent offers have gone down extremely smoothly. The concept of Tapas, of course, entails the selection of a number of small dishes, either hot or cold, traditionally eaten alongside a succession of drinks, but now - at least in the version imported to England - considered more of a meal in their own right. An informal, sociable way to eat, it is for a glutton like myself who agonises endlessly over equally wonderful-sounding options on a menu, a godsend! With seventy restaurants across Britain, La Tasca is a frequent sight in our towns and cities. The venues share an ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The top Tapas chain in the UK (167 words)

La Tasca - A nationwide chain of Spanish tapas restaurants, La Tasca can be found in most towns and in most areas of London, they have a website, www.latasca.co.uk which lists all branches, my favourite is in Covent Garden, London. La Tasca have many special offers, including unlimited Tapas on weekdays from a set menu for a limited price, you can have main meals such as Paella or more specialised tapas dishes. Drinks vary from Spanish beers, to wines and sherries. While the food is good it doesn't seem authentically Spanish to me, its nice enough but lacks the little touches of more specialised Spanish restaurants, but as a really good value chain restaurant I think ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review La Tasca (Docklands): Yummy tapas (188 words)

We recently visited La Tasca for the first time. There is a wide range of tapas dishes to choose from. From meat, chicken and seafood to vegetarian dishes and salads. The garlic bread as a starter was very nice. The menu is good in the sense that gluten free dishes are clearly marked- this is very helpful as my partner is gluten free and most restaurants don`t have any options for gluten free customers. One thing i should point out is that the paellas are obviously cooked to order and take 45 mins- 1 hour to cook- so if you definetly want paella i would suggest your order it as soon as you sit down at your table. There is a good choice of desserts and the ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Tapas at the Circus (1367 words)

Bristol's new branch of La Tasca is on the top level of the spanking new Glass House at Cabot Circus. Two of us had travelled by train and took about twenty minutes to walk from Temple Meads to Cabot Circus. My younger son lives in Bristol and had been able to get a bus right to the shopping centre. On the ground floor of the Glass House a well-informed lady was giving out maps of the centre and answering visitors' questions, so I took a map. One of my sons went bounding up the staircase but I quickly called him back, as I had spotted an escalator that my knees would find much easier. Later, when we were coming back down, we saw that there was a lift which would ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review La Tasca (Docklands): Estoy esperando para pagar el Paella! (944 words)

One Restaurant Chain that appears to be growing rapidly in the UK and America at the moment is ‘La Tasca’ - an essentially Spanish Bar and Restaurant. They are indeed now established as the UK's premiere Spanish Restaurant, and there are now quite a few ‘La Tascas’ operating all around the world. The very first ‘La Tasca’- Spanish Tapas Bar & Restaurant opened in Manchester city centre in 1993 and is now extremely popular. Since then this distinctive style of Restaurant seems to have successfully opened throughout the UK virtually everywhere and the company has built a 41-strong restaurant empire, recently completing a £1m move into the US market, and now ...  Read the complete review
