La Trattoria was opened by the Forte family in 1970. Mr Forte (the chef) and the head waiter worked together on the QE2 before opening the restaurant so i would say the quality of service comes from the training they received there. I have been visitng the restaurant since 1977 (in a carrycot at the time) and even chose to celebrate my eighteenth birthday there.
