geat little charming restaurant with lovely food and great service!

I visited here a few weeks ago after spending the last year saying 'I really want to try that place!' and I am very glad I finally did. I am a big fan of french food, and had been to probably most of the french restaurants in Nottingham - except for Le Bistrot Pierre.

The restaurant looks attractive from the outside, nothing extravagant - it is housed in an old bank. But to be honest I didnt even notice it until last year - and I have lived in Nottingham for five years. It wasnt until I noticed it one day and had a look at their menu online that I decided I really wanted to go.

Although it doesnt look too impressive from the outside, as soon as you walk in the place looks very charming. I was even more impressed when I realised that most if not all of the staff in the restaurant were actually French - which added extra charm to the place. The atmosphere within the restaurant is also really nice, I usually do not like eating in places that are really busy - but here I really didnt mind, it all added to the atmosphere.

The menu has a wide range of food on offer, and the specials are just that - something special. We went during the daytime (around 1 o'clock) as the restaurant has an excellent offer on where you can get 2 courses for £9.95 or 3 courses for £11.95 - excellent value for money. Especially considered the quality of the food!

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and all appeared to happy to be there. They made sure we had drinks and our meals were to our liking and didnt put pressure on us to order. I had fun trying to pronounce the french names for meals on the menu and the staff were'nt snotty or impatient as I have experienced before.

For £11.95 for 3 courses I really cant complain, but even if it had been more expensive I still wouldnt complain as the food was that good! I will definitely be going back, but maybe in the evening or for one of their events which they hold quite regularly. On the second and fourth tuesday of every month they hold Soiree Grastonomique - which involves a 6 course set dinner for £22.50!

So to summarise - an excellent restaurant with plenty of charm. The food is delicious, possibly the best french restaurant in Nottingham. Great value for money, particularly the lunch-time menu.
