Dirty Toilets (Little Chef)

Disadvantages: Haphazard service, dirty toilets

Having spent the last couple of months travelling from the West Midlands to Cardiff on a regular basis, I would like to comment on the cleanliness (or lack of it!) of the Little Chef at Monmouth. The service has been rather haphazard, but the toilets, both male and female, have been filthy! Last week the smell from the men's toilet was very obvious in the shop area and my husband said that it was very dirty. At one time the wall by the hand drier was so covered in "gunge" that he actually scraped a mark in it. The mark was still there two weeks later!!! The "ladies" is not much better, it smells and doesn't appear to have been cleaned for some time. Two of the five cubicles have been out of use for weeks, surely it doesn't take that long to get repairs done. Unfortunately there is not a great deal of choice in that area, or we certainly would not stop there.
As we are there around 10am and there are usually only a couple of other people around - I don't think it can be explained as being "unable to cope with the rush"!

Summary: Toilets are smelly and dirty.
