Little India, is an Indian restaurant with a difference, it is situated ion the Dublin Road Belfast in an area, which is well known form its night life of all sorts and forms the ground floor of the Archana Balti House Indian Restaurant. This may seem old hat and most people are probably saying why here.

My daughter is a vegetarian and has been for about fifteen years and it is very hard to find a restaurant anywhere in Belfast, which has a good selection of food for vegetarian’s so we were delighted to find Little India, whose menu shows that eight percent of the menu is suitable for vegans and one hundred percent for vegetarian’s

I had my first visit the other day and found a small, intimate restaurant with a very wide selection of starters, main meals and deserts, all served with efficiency and a smile. While your meal is being prepared, you and given pompadom’s and two dips, one with spicy onions, and the other with a mint sauce. My starter of onion baghi was excellent served with salad and very filling. The main meal of Korma with an Indian Cheese on boiled rice was out of this world, with the rice being very fine and not sticking together. The meal is served on separate dishes, which means that each person can sample each other’s meal, including my daughter’s Nan bread.


The portion’s were such that we were unable to face a desert and I have no doubt that our family will be frequenting the Little India for some time to come, as it will take some time to work our way through the menu.

I would recommend a visit to Belfast just to try the fare at this restaurant.
