London Hong Kong Restaurant (Heathrow)Newest Review: ... I expected the prices to be inflated a little - no surprise that they succumbed to the temptation of taking advantage of 'stranded' travellers with few other options! - but the prices for individual dishes did seem expensive, especially when, as is often the case, you then pay extra for rice etc. Everyone in our party opted for a set menu of sorts, (I shared a vegetarian set menu with a ... more |

We go regularly to Chinese restaurants in Central London for Dim Sum. We have sampled Dim Sum in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malasia and Toronto. This compares favourably.
The food was very good
Good value for money
The service was excellent and attentive
The toilets clean
We will recommend it to family & friends
We certainly will return
Additional advantage of parking available

The London Hong Kong profits well from airline/airport workers looking for somewhere relatively local to enjoy a night out. It also does well from those travellers staying in one of the many nearby Heathrow hotels, who are looking for something a bit different from the average hotel dining experiences, (and perhaps something more fairly-priced, too). We were a group of twelve who fitted into the first category - airline staff visiting the restaurant for a leaving 'do'. I had heard mixed reviews of the place anecdotally - generally, the opinion seemed to be that the food was good, but very overpriced compared to other Chinese restaurants. I expected the prices ... I've only been to the Bath Road branch, twice for Dim Sum, so can't comment on the other establishments. As it was for Dim Sum, it was obviously in the afternoon, so I can't comment on what the evening is like, nor the standard menu. I've traveled a number of times to Hong Kong, was introduced to, and `schooled in', Dim Sum by a Chinese friend and have eaten it extensively in London's Chinatown and in Hong Kong. LHK was recommended initially, or at least to my wife, by a friend of hers. I tend to be a bit sceptical about Dim Sum places, especially out of town ones, as it requires a specialist chef, it's not something that can just be picked up. The first ... Read the complete review

I've been going to London Hong Kong (LHK) with my family for the last few years, as it's my Mum's number one choice for dim sum since she decided the food at Tai Tung in Croydon wasn't up to her standard anymore. Up until recently we have considered the food at LHK to be very good. We mostly go there to eat dim sum, but we have also had evening meals and attended a wedding banquet. However, our last visit to LHK was very disappointing. We ordered all of our usual dim sum dishes and we were shocked at how small they were! The dumplings had significantly shrunk in size and the Har Gau (prawn dumplings) hardly had any prawns in them, being mostly ... Read the complete review

If you want a child friendly, good service restaurant, don't go here (Heathrow). I went with a pre booked group of 18 including kids. On arrival they had us split on two tables, until we asked them to join them together. Our orders arrived erratically and some never arrived - food and drink. The icecream for the kids took 40 minutes to arrive after making several requests of the staff. One dessert arrived as we were preparing to leave. The staff in our area were very rude and it was the worst service I have ever experienced. The table was not cleared until we asked and generally it was a disappointing experience. I would not recommend this "restaurant". WonKees has better service than this place.
