I first visited Matgheritas aout 6 orseven years ago and found it very nice but quite expensive, it doesn't seem so expensive now.
It is an Italian restaurant in the centre of St Annes amongst the shops.
Whenever we go out for a meal we go early - no later than 6pm as that way we can get home whilst the youngest is still in a goodish mood. If we went any later she would be too tired for us to enjoy it. So as this restaurant opens at 5.30pm ( I think) we never have a problem getting a table, later on might be different but having said that we always book.
The restaurant is quite small and on the one floor so I can imagine it getting quite busy later on at a weekend.
Whenever we have been, we have been seated immediatley and given menus. We have been left alone for about 10 minutes to choose our meals, when my mum and dad have been with us we have needed longer. The waiters have been patient whilst my mum asks questions about whether she can have things done a different way or without sauce etc. They always manage to do something for her (my mum is fussy).
I can't give you the full menu as I haven't really paid attention to it but they do different kinds of pizza and pastas (obviously being Italian), they also do some kind of meats as my mum wouldn't order pizza or pasta so we always have to check beforehand. The last time we went there was a new rice dish on the menu for I think £4.95 which my dad chose, from what I remember it didn't sound great but was the cheapest on the menu which would be why my dad ordered it. He did say it was really nice though.
I have only ever had pizza or pasta here and they have both been really nice.
The children have been treated good which I like as some restaurants are not very good with children. The overall service was good and we have found it a pleasant experience.
The only thing I will say that is bad is the irish coffees are not that good especially if you ask for it without sugar.
A good restaurant
Summary: a good restaurant
