Advantages: yummy food!

Disadvantages: calorific, expensive, bad repotation

McDonalds is probably the most famous fast food restaurant in the world with a McDonalds on every continent.

It has a reputation for selling unhealthy, fast food thrown at you by some spotty teenager. In recent times though I think they have tried to get rid of this image by providing healthier choices such as Garden salads and providing fruit bags in children's meals instead of French fries,

Availability

As mentioned McDonalds is incredibly easy to get to and I would imagine everyone who lives in a suburban area in England has one within a 15 to 20 minute drive as they are that popular.

Most tend to have very long opening hours from 6.3am to 10 pm and my local ones are 24 hour as are most city centre branches.

Service

Service can be really slow here, especially at lunch time but this is obviously due to their popularity. If your going around lunch time or tea time then deffinatly expect to stand in a fair queue.

Some branches have an express lane where you pay, move on and collect your food.

I have found staff to be a very mixed bunch, from shy but polite people to those who do throw your food at you and act like your causing a nuisance by buy food from them.

The only time I've ever complained to a manger they were very professional and assured me the problem would be dealt with.

Food and prices

I've found McDonalds food has gone up recently, most noticeably on their Mcflurry's which has rose from 99p to £1.19.

There is a good range of food available here including food suitable for vegetarians. They try to provide healthier options but you're strong than me if you turn down a big Mac to eat a salad. I'd also love to know the percentage of children who agree to have their fried swapped to carrot sticks.

Prices are quite expensive to be honest, another reason why it should be a treat. A medium meal will cost around £.3.80 and a large meal around £4.10. This depends on branch.

The 'Restaurants'

The venues are all quite modern and have a fun look about them with a couple of bright colours integrated.

Seating ranges from bar stools to comfy chairs to booths. What's available does of course depend on time of day.

Other Services

McDonalds is known for it's drive through, the supposedly quicker, more convenient way of getting your food but in all honesty it can be quicker to park in their free car parks, go in a queue because 8 times out of 10 the drive through is a nightmare.

McDonalds is also known for its free wifi. I can't comment on this as I've never taken my laptop there.

Overall its a really popular place, especially for young people but it should only be treat to keep ponds in your purse and not on your tummy!

Great review! I like Mcdonalds but it is soooo expensive!

Our local is open 24hours:) Should try American Mcdonalds, the service is like a 5* restaurant over here in the UK!
