McDonalds is definitely the king of American fast food restaurants. The Golden Arches symbols can be found throughout the world, & are as recognisable & popular as a brand can be.

McDonalds serve a wide range of food nowadays, in order to comply with the health nuts who seem to think they can preach what we should and shouldn't be eating. It's no longer just fries & burgers on the menu, there are also salads, sandwiches, fruit bags, bottled water, along with the obligatory grease & calorie-laden offerings. The fries at McDonalds are by far the best of all the chains and the prices charged are probably the cheapest out there as well. On the subject of price - McDonalds are also great when you're on the road, as most of the prices at motorway srvice station outlets are the same as you'd pay anywhere else...this makes a refreshing change.

Again bowing to pressure, portion sizes have been reduced at McDonalds, with the removal of the 'Super Size' option. I think I'm in the minority that says bring back the Super Size option. Pressure from "big brother" do-gooder organisations forced McDonalds to make our minds up for us on portion sizes. So, I now have to buy two portions of fries instead of one...ridiculous. I for one am grown up enough to know that I am not obese or even overweight and can make my own mind up on the subject.

McDonalds frequently runs competitions such as the Monopoly game where you can collect tokens from fries & drinks to win prizes. These games often feature instant win prizes, but they are becoming fewer & fewer - it seems all I ever seem to win is a cup of coffee or a fruit bag....who goes to McDonalds and wants fruit anyway....
