Advantages: Cheaper in the UK than most of Europe
Disadvantages: portions have become smaller and hardly any salad in the sandwhiches
What has happened to McDonalds food? You used to be able to eat a quater pounder with cheese meal and be so full up that you would bypass dinner. We used to eat McDonald's, not just because mothers out there couldn't be bothered to make dinner that evening, but because it was actually a descent meal. And when we mess up our faviourite outfit with sauce, we didn't mind, because the burger tasted so good!
Now, at the present time, the sandwhiches are a lot smaller a lot unhealthier and definately not tasty. There is no way there is a quater pound of meat in the quater pounder sandwhich. The burger in the cheeseburger is paper thin and the big mac is a small mac.
I ordered a small coke, and their cup size was the size of their coffee cup. I know there is a recession, but surely changing the size of all their cups and portions would have cost them quite a bit anyway. I would rather they increased their prices by 19 or 20 pence, then have a limpy sandwhich with no salad.
Talking of salads, I wish I could have a salad only once in a while, I had a very nice sald at Mc Donalds in Hungary, so they obviously do know how to make them we just dont have them in the UK.
Having said that, atleast the prices in England are not as high they pay in the rest of Europe. A big mac meal was about £7 in France.
Now in the UK, A Big Mac costs approximately £3. A Big Mac consists of;
"Two 100% beef patties with lettuce, onions, pickles, cheese, and our unbeatable Big Mac Sauce- all in a seasame bun"
As said on the McDonald's Website. A Big Mac has approximately 490 calories, that is a quater of your guideline daily allowance. And that is just the burger! What about the fries, the coke, and taking into account how small the burgers are nowadays, you might want ANOTHER burger! Definately not the healthiest meal out there, even with all those onions and lettuce included in them.
Another amazing fact, is that one Big Mc has the same amount of fat as eating 5 glasses of orange juice! What a load of sugar, and what happens to un-used sugar, it converts into a lot of fat. A Big Mac however has a lot of stuff wrong with it. It has heart-clogging saturated and trans-fats, cholestrol spikers, a lot of sodium etc.
So why bother setting yourself up for all these risks when he burger is so small, it is not satisfying, and isn't even that tasty.
So, if we all join together, we can make sure that in the future, McDonald's makes bigger and more tasty burgers!!
Summary: McDonalds is going from bad to worse
