Advantages: Good range, Food taste Good, Cheap, Healthy Options, Lots of Restaurants

Disadvantages: Many Unhealthy Options.

It would surprise me if there were many people out there that are unfamiliar with the McDonald's brand, with it's universally numerous restaurants, it's high budget television commercials and it's popular slogans and trademarks. McDonald's is an American fast food chain - the worlds largest hamburger chain. It serves around 47 million customers every day. Hamburgers, Cheese Burgers, Chicken Products, Chips, Ice Cream, Milk Shakes and Salads are all on the menu at Maccy Ds as it is affectionately known on "the street".

I find Mcdonald's to be one of the better fast food outlets. I have read that the beef they use in the UK comes from the same farms and goes through the same abbatoirs as "Tesco Finest" beef and that McDonald's does believe in good animal welfare measures. To me it has a less "mysterious" image as a place like KFC which has largely been criticised for it's poor animal welfare, after footage was filmed of some of it's chicken supplier's facilities.

Another reason that I think McDonald's is one of the better of its type, is the emphisis it seems to put on eating a bit healthier. Whether it does actually care about it or not, or does serve salads and fruit juice type products. It also sells the "Deli of the Day" chicken sandwiches for only £1.99 and these are a largely healthy option, not dripping with the same greese that you might find in a Big Mac.

Of course McDonald's will always be best at making it's fatty junk products and whilst they are unhealthy, they do taste ever so good. If you eat in moderation and don't go in every single day, or even week of your life, then Mcdonald's is probably quite sustainable for your health - basically it's great for the occasional snack and shouldn't be used as a regular/staple eating outlet.

It is usually easy to find a local restaurant seeing as McDonald's operates in more than 119 countries on 6 continents and runs 31,000 branches. McDonald's also employs 1.5 million people and therefore has benefits economically.

I don't eat much fast food, but I would have to say that Mcdonald's is one of my favourite outlets of this genre.

Summary: One of the better ones.
