Everytime I go away the first stop is McDonald's.

The first McDonald's was opened in 1940 by the McDonald brothers in California. There are over 34 thousand restaurants in 119 countries across the world. These include restaurants and drive-thrus.

The UK has around 1200 McDonald's and yet in Guernsey we don't have one! The closest one to us is in Jersey. Often when islanders go to Jersey they bring back food from McDonald's and other fast food restaurants like Pizza Hut and KFC as we do not have one fast food restaurant on the island.

I love the food from McDonald's which is not really healthy but we only go a few times a year. My favorite is the Chicken McNuggets (yum yum) and so often we visit a few days in a row, (the most was 3 days in a row).

The service is always quick, as it is a fast food restaurant, but once when in Southampton at lunchtime it took ten to fifteen minutes to get food.

The prices are really cheap and an advantage if you have a student card is a free McFlurry with a meal. Often they have run out of these when we have been.

The only problem we have had with a few McDonald's is finding tables as they are always busy.

I can't wait until I next go away so I can visit again.
