Advantages: Fast service, food on demand.
Disadvantages: Poor quality products and services.
We have all heard of Mc Donald's and I would imagine all of us have eaten in one of their fast food outlets, so I won't go on and on about the things we all already know. What I would like to say is in connection with the poor quality goods they offer us all. If you have ever taken the time to read the leaflet giving details of the ingredients and nutritional content of their products you would have noticed that a large percentage of a milk shake, for example, is starch extracts. The primary ingredient in a Mc Donald's milk shake is potato, strange I hear you cry but sadly true. The reason they use potatoes is because they fool our bodies into thinking we are full up, or satisfied with our meal. Potatoes contain a lot of starch, and starch is often used as a thickening agent, not only is this why their milk shake's are so thick but it is alos why we feel so full afterwards. But, have you noticed how hungry you feel soon after eating the meal? I have, and I am told it is because the starch only gives the satisfied sensation temporarily. It isn't just the milk shakes that contain added starch, but all of their burgers do too. My second point is to do with the way they serve their fries. Have you noticed how much salt they add? It is fair to say that most of us would think it is the fault of the poorly trained student behind the counter, but the added salt is deliberate. The salt has a dehydrating effect (as we all know) therefore making us all feel artificially thirsty. I often find myself buying a second drink when I have a meal at Mc Donald's. They obviously do this to increase sales, I personally think it is a disgusting, dishonest way of making more money! I like the comment in one guy's opinion about the 7p burgers, I was going to mention that too, but I won't get repetitive. I hope this opinion is an eye opener, but like me, you will probably continue using Mc Donald's as it is too convi
eient to pop out and grab a take away!
