Advantages: Well hardly any, Kiddie toys

Disadvantages: Bad food

McDonalds must be getting on a bit. I remember the opening of the local branch when I was young, and since all my mates had been I had to go. Birthday parties at McDonalds was cool and hip. How times have changed. Ever since sinking my teeth in to my first hamburger I was becoming part of the statistics for fast food. McDonalds are everywhere, not just Britain, I mean everywhere. In fact in the US market they are so dominant, that they have become saturated and growth is very hard to see these days.

McDonalds styling are very similiar. I mean once you have a winning formular why change it. The menu has changed relatively since my first visit as has the food. I guess the new items barely deserve the merit these days.

The burgers are small compared to other countries, guess we have smaller appetites but prepared to pay more (Big Mac index) and they taste rather bland..

I suppose service can vary once you beat the queues, well can you blame the cashier who gets treated like a slave for little reward? I mean I may be wrong but most of my friends who worked there didn't like the experience.

Anyway my usual order consists of a Big Mac Value Meal, otherwise I have to buy 2 meals. I haven't been for a long time to have a meal, popped in once to have a McFlurry which was rather overhyped, couldn't really taste the bounty, and to be honest I'd rather buy one from an ice cream van. Anyway last week was my first visit, since we needed something to fill our stomachs before our big day and we were running late.

Having got our order, the appearance has changeed little, being in the brown polystyrene box, housing a bun with two burgers and an extra layer of bun in the middle. I have to say the burger is rather tasteless, the sauce bland, the bun and burger tasting of cardboard and the salad rather limp and old. The fries were better, but they were rather hollow. The coke was the worse culprit.
It was extremely watered down, it was like water with a coke colouring! Where was the taste of coke? I guess I'm being a bit too harsh, with the breakfast being reasonanble, pricey and greasy though.

McDonalds really lack a good vegetarian option as well, compared to BK, where I would happily have one of their options such as veggie whopper anytime. Yes you guessed it I've switched to BK. I find they taste much better but they are much pricier.

McDonalds are much more innovative though, bringing new items out much quicker and their kiddie meals are also popular because they have better toys.

Me I've grown up, I go to BK if I can, or a pub for a proper burger..

I've had occasion to sample their fare in five countries, on four continents and it never varies the taste resembles the packaging, bland. It's junk food to be eaten therough lack of choice and no expectations.
