Advantages: Fast food, Convenient
Disadvantages: Poor Servcie, Un friendly
I’m am so sick and tired of McDonald’s fast food restaurants customer service. Why is it that every few visit your bound to have an argument with one of the staff members? I was in McDonald’s yesterday at the Brent Cross and it was so busy, which is not a problem. My friend and I queue up for about three minutes to be served by the customer care advisor. She took our order from us and said then started to process the money. During this point there was no eye contact, no repeating of our order taken and no acknowledge of change given. O.K I know your all thinking give them a break it busy and they’re trying to serve as quick as they can. But to my amazement there was a lady who was previously served by this staff member and she forgot to give the fries and drink. And on top of all that she accused the customer that she did give the items. Please can anyone tell me is this anyway to speak to a customer who comes into a restaurant to have a paid meal? Regardless of what ever happen I think you should remain care at all times. I personally used to work for Warner Village Cinema and have served behind the concession counter. I was able to perform this task daily with no problems and never argued with customer regardless of the situation, as I knew this would look bad on the company. Well enough about me I then was give my order and went to sit down to eat my meal. Everything looked fine until I took a bite out of my Filet-o-fish and guess what. No guess…. Keep guessing….. The fish wasn’t cook properly. At this point my friend looked at me in sock and said should I go and sort this out. (VERY ANGRY MOOD) I went over to counter and demanded to speak to the manager and guess who I got. That right the customer care advisor who was all willing help now that I hit the roof with a smiling face and apologetic
humour. He instantly replaces my fish for me and without checking it I got another un-cooked fish. I sorry but I remain calm all the way with this person and started to lose my patience with her. In the end I got my replacement but I think this could of all been avoided. They should do more training of more roles plays to help these guys out, as they don’t know what they’re doing half the time. Maybe next time I’ll go to Burger King.. But as my title say I’ll still go to McDonald’s What is it that intrigues us to back there? Well the way we get treated there I’m starting to think of rebelling. Let me know what you think of it!

- 04/08/01 I really think we should all avoid McDonalds, save in near-starvation emergencies. (After all, it's not so long since they took the McLibel Two all the way to the High Court.
Besides which, I'm not veggie but am addicted to Burger King Veggie-Burgers... Yum! |

- 02/08/01 What are you guys doing? You are not thinking of tactics in the constant war between corporation and consumer!
I visit McDonalds regularly (the only food outlet within walking distance of work), and the McDonalds I visit has to be the WORST ever. (Wait for the op. It's in the pipeline!)
But do I care. Not a jot!
Why? you may ask....
Well, their complete incompetence, across the board, means that I get around 45% of my McMeals for nothing.(figures quoted are for the last 6 months!!) Between like-minded friends and colleagues it has become a sport worthy of the effort of score-taking - although it must be noted that the branch I visit is the worst in the region and therefore it is rather easy to deploy these tactics regularly.
The trick is to state exactly what you require when you order...i.e. I want 1 HOT Big Mac (well-done), 1 HOT portion of fries, etc.
When the food order is not as you requested (notice the use of WHEN rather than IF) say I asked for.., restate your order and then ask to see the manager.
Bingo, fresh, FREE meal! And one snivelling, brown-noseing, ultra-apologetic manager.
I know that this tactic sort of defies the object of fast-food, but you do get the added joy of having a share of McDonalds profits in your pocket! Far more satisfying than any burger!
If the tactic should fail...plan B is to disregard the manager and just demand an address for complaints, taking note of the managers name (as obviously as possible!). Watch the profound, instantaneous change of attitude.
You'll find you'll only need to do this once, if you are a regular at a branch. From then on, you'll either get a piping-hot, edible meal each time, or they won't challenge you when you complain...they just roll over and play dead!
Who said there's no such thing as a free lunch?
