Misato is a Japanese restaurant in Central London with a relatively low price tag. There is always a long queue stretching out of the doors at Misato. This place must be amazing?! WRONG! First impressions: This is a very small eatery with too many tables cramped close together. The tables are always dirty even after they have wiped them down and the menus look dog chewed. We were not greeted. The waitresses and girls at the counter didn't acknowledge us at the slightest until we got to the front of the queue when the waitress just pointed at vacant seats. The menu: Pretty average. Has the usual sushi selections and dishes. Nothing to elicit a WOW! The food: Mediocre. Not terrible, but nothing special either. Comes in large portions but of poor quality. The meat is bland and the teriyaki sauce is far too sweet/salty. I suspect the popularity is due the low prices. £6.50 can buy a large portion of chicken teriyaki with rice. You are paying for quantity NOT quality at Misato. Customer service: You are certainly not paying for any customer service at this place. They even have the cheek of adding service charge. please be aware that none of the waitresses speak good enough English if you require any assistance in choosing your meal. Bare this in mind if you have any food allergies or intolerances. Toilets: down a flight of greasy stairs. Be careful not to slip! The floors are wet and the toilets are truly awful! Needless to say that we did not leave a tip!
