Whilst in London, a few weeks ago I was craving a curry and having walked from Little Venice to Camden and then had quite a few beers in the pub - it seemed too far to head to Brick Lane, so I reluctantly settled for some Thai food.
Muang Thai is easily found on the right side of the road if travelling between Camden market and Chalk Lane, the prices are reasonable. There is a choice of Thai or Indian beer and the food tends to be very much coconut based. The décor is quite nice and the staff albeit shy (not a superb quality in a waitress!) were helpful enough.
A meal should come to about 7 pounds, 10 including a beer. Whilst it's not going to break the bank, I actually thought that the best thing about the place was the interesting wooden toilet. The food was really rather too salty with an excess of soya sauce and it seemed that the only other ingredient was probably coconut milk, although the meat was of a satisfactory quality.
I thought it was crap but another couple with us seemed to enjoy theirs due to my friend's apparent rule when eating in Thai restaurants - choose something with basil! Bizarre but who am I to mock, I chose a stinker of a meal!
