Advantages: Depends on which one
Disadvantages: I can't choose!
My Ten favourite restaurants - some here, some abroad, all good. 1) Element Oodle Noodle - chinatown. Nearest Tube: Leiceister Square. Why: good meals for less than £10 per person and placemats with philosophic sayings on them. Example menu item: Malaysian Chicken Lao Udon - Chicken (with bone) and Udon noodles in coconut cream sauce/soup - £4.40 Vegetarian dishes: yes Booze? - Sake from £3.50 and a variety of beers, £2.90 2) Paper Tiger - South Kensington Why: £4.50 all you can eat but with good service for a change. Menu: Rice, Noodles, Vegetables, Soup, Wings, Crackers, Spring Rolls, Sweet and Sour Sauce, Black bean beef, Sweet and Sour pork, Spicy Chicken (with carrots) Vegetarian: no Booze? - Yup. 3) Pizza Organic - South Kensington Why: Pizza hut but with pine nuts and it tastes better. Price - £20-30 for a meal for two. Extras - fill in a comment card and get a glass of house wine free. Menu items: Pizza, Pasta and Grill items, all organic and GM free. Vegetarian: yes, and its good. 4) Marlins Seafood Restaurant (Cocoa Beach, Florida) Why: Three words : Coconut Beer Shrimp. Yum! (or is that four words?) Price: $30 for two (+ air tickets to florida) Sample menu item: free fish of the day, baked, grilled or canjun style, with house salad and french fries - $11 Vegetarian: a bit 5) Satay Club (Singapore) Why: cheap, delicious food, obnoxiously enthusiastic service. Sample items: stick of satay for 30 cents (10p) (Price does not include flights and accomodation) Vegetarian: Bok Choi in Oyster Sauce! 6) Khyber Pass - South Kensington Why: good indian food in nice surroundings. Price: £30 for two, maybe more. Vegetarian: Yes 7) Any Buffet costing less than £6 a person. Location: Chinatown, mostly. Why: because I'm cheap at times Vegetarian: occasionally Best tip: bring tupperware.
r> 8) Wok Wok - Fulham Road Why: good, fast food, and good service Price: gets more expensive every time, it seems. Problems: used to be good value, portions appear to be getting smaller. Vegetarian: yes 9) Stockpot - Kings Road Why: cheap meal out Price: £10 per person maximum. Good: scrambled eggs Bad: some of the pasta 10) McDonalds, Burger King, et all. Why: because sometimes I'm just Bad Don't look at me like that, you know you all do it. Wandering down the road, getting a little hungry - or maybe you just want to use the toilets <g> So thats my ten, off the top of my head.
