Advantages: Offers a new cuisine which is not duplicated elswhere in Brighton

Disadvantages: Not very Portuguese - no fish!

Nandos has entered the highly competitive Brighton restaurant scene fairly recently and offers something a little different from the hundreds of other Brighton restaurants. However, as a regular visitor to Portugal I found it to be not very Portuguese. Apart from Piri Piri chicken (and mine was very good) and some wine there was little to remind us of that country. Only one member of staff was Portuguese or could speak the language although there was one waitress who was Spanish!
The most notable omission was the absence of fish although this restaurant is only 1/4 mile from the sea. I also disliked the method of payment which was similar to that adopted by some British restaurant chains. I do like to pay for my meal before I eat it.
The service was friendly and helpful and value for money was good.
My overall feeling was that this restaurant could do a lot better.

Summary: Fills a gap in the market but could be more Portuguese.
