I am a big fan of Nandos, preferring it to it's greasier KFC cousin. In mind it is also healthier, those this probably isn't the case unless you're just having a corn on the cob. The best thing on the menu is a quarter of chicken with two sides for just over £5, a price which many fast food places are catching up with. I'd recommend getting fries and coleslaw or two lots of spicy rice for a decent portion.

You can choose the spiciness of your chicken Lemon and Herb, Medium, Hot and Extra Hot (I always go for Hot, but I'm a Vindaloo kind of person), but I wouldn't get it too spicy if you're not used to it. You can always add some of the sauces they have at the counter if you're feeling a bit more daring and want to try something a bit different. You can also get a bottomless soft drink for less than £2 (free if you have a Cornerhouse card for the one in Nottingham) which you can keep refilling or free tap water and ice.

Another thing most people don't know, is that Nando's has a loyalty card. Everytime you spend a fiver, you get it stamped so on your 3rd visit you can get a free 1/4 quicken, 6th 1/2 a chicken and whole chicken for your 10th (better bring some friends along). It's handy if you have a friend with you, as you can effectively get your meal for less (you still have to buy the sides and drink, but I think it's worth it if you're a regular visitor anyway). The staff are always friendly and I like the fact you can pay separately at the beginning, avoiding disputes when the bill comes. You can even buy the sauces to recreate the experience at home. Chicken will never be the same again...
