Best place to eat portuguese food (Nandos)

Advantages: quality Disadvantages: price, customer service This was my first visit to the new Exeter Nando's, but I have been to three different London Nando's (Westbourne Grove, the Fulham Road and Brixton) in the past and like their formula. This is a fastfood chicken restaurant (but with delicious vegetarian things too), but a million miles from KFC. It's not as upmarket as say Pizza Express or Zizi's though. Nando's is Portuguese Mozambique cuisine .... lots of peri peri spice and it's absolutely delicious! Service is quick, efficient and friendly. A great place for teenagers and younger children. The decor of this Nando's isn't as attractive as some of the others, but it's OK and we sat at high tables on bar stools which was fun. Portions are big, and there are huge servings of chips and salads with the chicken or vegetarian equivalent. They have a "bottomless glass" system of drinks such as coke. Puddings are the most delicious Portuguese custard tarts (these sell out so reserve yours when you arrive if stocks are looking low!) and rather synthetic tasting frozen yoghurt. I thought it was very good value .... less than £10 per head for the six of us having huge portions, although no-one drank alcohol.I recommend it, but bumped into a very "foody" couple of friends when I arrived there who thought it was dreadful! I write this on helphound aswell. Summary: I love it |
