Tasty Portugese food (Nandos)

Advantages: Nice food, fast service

Disadvantages: Awkward seating, food not as filling as it appears.

I have only been Nando's once and have been intending to go back for a while now. The food is great, simple cooking and makes a change to the array of fast food restaurants on the high street.

There was a small que at the door and a member of staff co-ordinating when customers were able to go in, based on when tables became free, my position in the que was maybe 3 people back and before i knew it i was able to get a table along with my two friends. I took this time to check out the menu and decided i would have the spicy chicken, chips and a side portion of rice with a refill of diet coke. We sat down and placed our order with in a matter of minutes, it was easy to get the attention of the waitress and she was attentive in taking our orders. We helped ourselves to drinks and sat back down to wait for our food. One thing i did notice was the seating area was a little cramped and so the people sat at the table next to us were practically sat with us. But i understand this is the nature of such a fast food restaurant, where the maximum capacity of people are squeezed in at any cost. Just under 10 minutes later our food arrived, the plates were rather large and so there was a bit of manouvaring to do to ensure all of our plates fitted on the table with enough room to eat our food.

I saw the table sauces on a free table and so took the medium peri peri sauce and it was a wise choice as this was pretty hot. The chicken coating was delicious, but although the chicken appeared huge on the plate, there was a lot of bones to contend with, which left my mouth watering for more chicken. Not to worry as there still was a plate full of crispy chips doused in peri peri sauce, which went down a treat, the followed by a small bowl of rice. By this point i was contently full and was determined to finish my drink in order to get that refill i had paid for! Afer finishing the pint sized coke i was full of gas and ready to hit the toilet not the refill taps after all that drinking it left my bladder wanting.

The toilets were clean and well maintained, after using the toilets we paid up and left. I would describe this restaurant as a peg up from McDonalds and the like.

Summary: A welcome change to fast food burgers.
