Advantages: lots of chicken, range of spices

Disadvantages: not good for vegetarians or those who hate chicken

Nando's doesn't claim to offer all things to all people. It does chicken. Lots of chicken. In a variety of forms. If you don't like chicken, or if you're a staunch vegetarian, there isn't much here for you; I think there is one steak option on the menu, and one vegetarian dish. The rest of the menu is dominated by chicken, in either, divisions of a whole bird, wings, or breast. They can be served in buns like burgers, or in pitta bread, with a range of sides such as chips, rice or salad.

The range of spices go from lemon and herb for those who aren't a fan of spicy food, to ridiculously hot. The 'medium' level of spicy is good enough for me to give food a bit of a kick without it being uncomfortably hot.

The chain is usually very busy so it can take a while to get seated in some restaurants, but the service is generally fast as you aren't waiting for a waiter to take your order; you make your order at the till and pay in advance, which cuts out some of the waiting time, and also means you don't necessarily feel the same pressure to tip the staff if you don't want to or can't afford to.
