If you like chicken, you'll love this (Nandos)

Advantages: Customise the spicyness to fit your taste buds, great menu

Disadvantages: Not much choice if you don't eat chicken!

My boyfriend and I often visit the Chatham Nandos, before going to see a film at the Odeon there.

We're both fans of chicken, so it's ideal for us. He likes spicy food, so alternates between Hot and Extra Hot. I on the other hand am no fan of spicy food, so I normally go for Lemon & Herb or Mango & Lime. There's a great variety of ways to eat your chicken, my personal favourite is in a pitta with cheese and pineapple, and chips and corn on the cob as sides, but the burgers are fantastic too, or if you're hungry the whole chicken is brilliant! The salads are lovely too - I like to kid myself that a salad is allowed on my diet!

Soft drinks are bottomless - just help yourself to free refills of Coke, Sprite, Fanta. I am reliably informed that the Superbock Beer is wonderful, and can personally vouch for the deliciousness of the Sangria (when it's not my turn to drive, anyway).

If you're looking for waiter service, this is not the place for you, as you order and pay at the bar, then the food is brought out ten minutes later. It is always cooked very quickly, even when they are very busy, and the staff at Chatham are absolutely lovely.

If you can manage a dessert after their generously proportioned meals, the honey, rum and raisin ice cream is a must try. The raisins are amazingly juicy and the honey goes beautifully with the delicious ice cream. The lemon pudding is also worth a mention - very nice.

Prices are very reasonable - expect to pay about £8 for a meal, and about £4 for a dessert.
