Great if you love chicken. a great chioce, healthy and varied (Nandos)

I have been to quite a few Nandos. I love chicken, but it really needs to be marianted rather than anything in a crumb, so Nandos is a chicken dinner winner for me.

Its based on Portuguese style chicken with the Piri Piri marinades. The basis is Chicken, so if you don't like chicken I really wouldn;t bother going. Not great for veggies at all. I happen to have taken my best friend and the kids as they love it, shes a veggi and the menu was very limited. She opted for the veggi burger and it was one of those fake meat things and not the good sort..........veggies avoid.....chicken lovers enjoy,

I tend to have the same thing, a pitta bread with a chicken fillet with a mango marinade (the mild one) it does have a bit of a kick to it....but flavoursome rather than hot. I add cheese and pineapple. I always choose slaw and chips as a side, you can order the chips plain (I do) or with a piri piri powder stuff. Its fairly spicy, a nice flavour, but I don't like the whole trowing a powder onto chips...I want a sauce. but try it and make up your own mind.
Hubby has the big chicken mix, which is grilled peices, and he opts for the extra hot marinade as he prefers it very spicey. Again you can choose the sides, 1 is included in the price, but thats never enough. I think chicken and chips is boring and needs a veg....slaw or salad will do!!!!

We have 2 kids, 2 and 1...they are good eaters. Like a bit of spice, and like a variety of food. The kids selection is average and uninspiring. I tend to get them the same as me, pitta with cheese and pinapple and cut it in half for them. they love it, and it works out good value. When we did get the kids meal, it came with unlimited fat free yogurt icecream....but it wasn't working......have tried it since, but paid for it....it was very nice. very vanillery and light. ate LOADS!

The most amazing thing they sell.....a destination item......is the custard tart. A traditional portuguese tart. A sweet pastry case, with a kind of sweet glaze, and the most wonderful sweet perfect custard. Perfect end to a lovely munch.

Summary: A good fast food joint that is somewhere inbetween the avarage chicken shop and a resturant.
